Jamie Gardner
I’m a photographer based in Killingworth, North Tyneside, with a focus on technical studio fashion, beauty, and elegant portraiture. By day I’m a software engineer; by passion, I’m behind the camera.
I started shooting in Northern Ireland, working with bodybuilders and fitness athletes — an experience that taught me the fundamentals of anatomy, posing, and how to bring out someone’s strongest features. That foundation now informs everything I do in the studio, whether it’s dramatic chiaroscuro, vibrant editorial, or character-driven headshots.

The Approach
I shoot tethered, so we review images together in real time. It’s highly collaborative — I want you to see what I see. My goal is simple: I want you to recognise yourself, to realise just how incredible you look, and to see yourself in a genuinely different light.
Current Work
I currently work with Newcastle University Fashion Society and have recent collaborations with Laura Jayne brand. Alongside photography, I’m pursuing a PhD in Machine Learning at Newcastle University — where the technical and creative sides of my brain occasionally intersect.
